The Verbs Some verbs change their spelling when s is added in the

third person singular. When a verb ends in y immediately preceded by a

consonant, the y is changed to i before the ending es is added.

Infinitive Third Person Singular

• when a verb ends in y immediately preceded by a vowel, the y is not

changed before the ending s is added. In each of the following examples,

the vowel immediately preceding the final y is underlined. Infinitive Third Person Singular

When a verb ends in o, added es ending. For example:

Verbs ending in ch, s, sh, x or zWhen a verb ends in a sibilant sound such as ch, s, sh, x or z, added es ending.

Negative Form (-)• In negative form you have to use an Auxiliary Verb before

the action verb;this verb is DO with (I, You, We, They) and DOES with third person (He, She, It)

Interrogative Form (?)• In interrogative form we have to use DO and

DOES as the same as negative form, remember: The auxiliary verb is at the beginning.
