UPCOMING
Events
Dear Parents,
It is a great privilege to join the wonderful staff and fac-ulty here at the English Station Elementary campus as principal. We are blessed to share in the lives of your children every day and we thank you for entrusting them to our care.
In partnership with you, their parents, it is our mission “to develop students with a heart for God.” This occurs on a daily basis as we lead them in studying God’s Word and by integrating His Word into all areas of school life. Most importantly, we desire with the help of the Holy Spirit to see them surrender their hearts to the Lord so that they have the assurance of living with Him for eter-nity.
In a recent chapel, I shared with the boys and girls that God has a plan for each of our lives and that he orders our steps. Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord….”God’s plan for each one of them right now is to be here in this school doing their very best to develop their talents and skills, so that they can become the people He wants them to be, prepared to do the work He wants them to do while here on this earth.
May God find us Faithful,
Mrs. Shirley Owen
English Station Elementary Principal
This wonderful project
reminds us that God
takes the ordinary
things of our lives and
turns them into the
extraordinary. Our
students have done an outstanding job packing this year’s
shoeboxes with so many ordinary things to bless the lives of
children around the world whom they do not even know. But
those ordinary things become extraordinary because they
express the love our children have for Jesus and the children
in other places who have so little. The GREAT report is that
688 shoeboxes will be going to those children to share the
love of Christ. Good Reports Edify and Testify.

I have decided to return to the classroom teaching science. The Lord has opened some doors for me to move back into my prior position in the high school science department. It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve your children as the school nurse over the past 4 years. I am blessed to continue being a part of the CAL family.
I wanted to introduce our new full time nurse, Michele Soete, to the health room at English Sta-tion. She comes to us through much prayer and we are thankful for her flexibility in starting mid-school year. She and her husband Jeff have 3 children - one in first grade at the English Station campus. Michele is a registered nurse and has 12 years of experience in critical care at Norton Women’s/Kosair Children’s Hospital. She will be a wonderful addition to our nursing staff in the health room.
In addition to Michele, we also have Lindsey Smith joining us as a part-time/substitute nurse. Lindsey is a registered nurse with 10 years of experience and is currently working part time in the mother/baby unit at Baptist Hospital. She and her husband Nick have 2 children with one in second grade at the English Sta-tion campus.
Amy Gates will continue to provide her wonderful nursing care once a week.
Please keep us in your prayers as we all transition in-to our new positions here at Christian Academy.
You can reach the health room at 244-3225 #1023
