In Single User MIMO (or MIMO),the Access Point can only addressone client at a time
If client support less streams than the AP, then capacity is lost
In Multi User MIMO, the Access Point can address up to four clients for DL simultaneously
Clients needs to support MU-MIMO
AP allocate one (or more) streamto each client so AP capacity is better used
Very few MU-MIMO client available now. It should pick up in near future

Client Management
Band Steering
When using dual radio Access Point, most clients tend to connect to the 2.4 GHz radio even if they are capable of using 5 GHz frequency
Band Steering enabled AP ensures clients evenly distribution between its two radios
Load balancing
When deploying a large network with overlapping Access Point, most clients tend to connect to the same AP even if a neighbor AP is less loaded.
Network Controller redirects clients toward less used AP covering the same area to balance the load.
Load Balancing can also be used for Call Admission Control to ensure optimal QoS for time critical application (voice or video)
