Approved Programs Monitoring and Reporting Accurate Information to GaPSC

Reporting Programs PAAR is the method in which programs are reported to the GaPSC. The information from PAAR is used to populate the program information on the GaPSC website.

APPROVED PROGRAMS

GaPSC website errors should be reported to your GaPSC Education Program Specialist ASAP!

INITIAL vs. ADVANCED Programs

Initial programs lead to certification

Advanced programs are designed for those already

professionally certified to qualify for an upgrade and not initial

certification

Initial programs are cert-only, bachelor’s or MAT programs

If a program prepares an individual to be certified in a field then it is an initial preparation program.

CERT-ONLY PROGRAMS

Cert-only programs do not have a degree level

The Certification Official Keeping the Name and Contact Information Current

CERTIFICATION OFFICIAL

There should only be 1 certification official with a back-up per EPP

Program Coordinators should not be signing off on program completion forms

KEEP CERT OFFICIAL INFO CURRENT

Send letter to GaPSC by fax or email to

certhelp@gapsc.com

Notify GaPSC as soon as there is a

change

CONTACTING GaPSC

This can be the Certification Official or Assessment Director Have one person

designated in your unit who contacts the GaPSC Education

Specialist with program questions/issues

Once the TPMS portal is fully operational this will totally replace the CERT portal and paper completion form

That is the question.

CREC APPLICATION CHECK-LIST

A Complete Packet Includes: • Application for Certification • Program Completion Verification • Official Transcripts • Verification of GACE PAA (or

exemption) • Verification of GACE Content • Verification of Lawful Presence (VLP)

MyPSC Online Allows candidate to

submit all documents except program

completion and official transcript

Expresslane Allows EPP to

submit all documents

EMPLOYED CANDIDATES CONVERTING, UPGRADING OR ADDING FIELDS

Candidate should apply through employing LUA

Employing LUA should submit application packet to open a new certification transaction

EPP can submit supporting documents using Expresslane document delivery as needed

If you use a transcript service have the official transcript sent to you rather than the candidate

PROGRAM COMPLETION

Do not use paper completion form unless instructed to do so by GaPSC

Scores posted on official college transcript

Scores posted on official high school transcript
