Cycle of Intercessions Advent 2016 – Pentecost 2017
RCL Year A
Weekday Lectionary Year 1

EDITOR’S NOTES
This booklet has been compiled in conjunction with
The Anglican Cycle of Prayer is published by the Anglican Communion Office and is © 2004 Anglican Consultative Council. Liturgical Each weekday is presented with the date, day and the Saints/Feast Day taken from The Church in Wales Lectionary produced by The Church in Wales/Yr Eglwys yng Nghymru. The colour of a Sunday is stipulated in the title. All other days (unless feasts of the Lord) are divided between Red and Black letter days. Feasts of the Lord and Red Letter days have a Gloria and a proper preface. If a saints day (black/minor) falls on a Sunday that day has been superseded. If it is your feast of title or dedication then it may take precedence over a Sunday. That said, it can be celebrated on the next available feria day. Copies of the Lectionary are available from 39 Cathedral Road, Cardiff, CF11 9XF 02920 348259. Proofing This text has been checked by the Diocesan Office. However, any errors or omissions in the text, are my responsibility and I apologise in advance. Any additions you would like seen in this cycle then please contact me. Corrections should be emailed to the address below. ‘Vacancies’ both in the Anglican and Diocesan Cycle are as at the beginning of November 2016.
THE ANGLICAN CYCLE OF PRAYER 2016/7 This lists all Dioceses in every part of the world.
It is only available on ‘The Anglican Communion Official Website’ at: www.anglicancommunion.org/acp/

Cycle of Prayer Each Sunday has been divided into two sections: 1. The Anglican Cycle 2. The Diocesan Cycle With the implementation of Ministry Areas, these (as Ministry Areas currently exist) have been allocated to a particular week. The Ministry Area Leader, clergy, lay ministers and any schools within a Ministry Area are prayed for. Where there is space, Provincial or Diocesan intentions are mentioned. When it is the turn of your Ministry Area to be prayed for, please pray, that day, for the work of the Cathedral as your mother church. Daily and Sunday prayer should also include the Bishop and his ministry, This Cycle of Prayer is intended to be used together with the Ecumenical Prayer Cycle “With All God’s People”, published by the World Council of Churches and also with the Porvoo Communion Invitation to Prayer which can be found on the Church in Wales website. However, they are not meant to be followed rigidly - in times of need appropriate prayers should be substituted. Copies An electronic copy of the Cycle of Prayer is available on the Diocesan Website. Further hard copies are ONLY available from both of the Diocesan Resource Centres. Communication With the editor can be made in various forms but email is preferred (to the address below): Fr Michael Thomas succentor@breconcathedral.org.uk

D I O C E S A N P R A Y E R
Father, we hold before you
our family in the Diocese of Swansea and Brecon
and we open our hearts and minds to your Spirit:
Bless us as we gather in your name;
Guide us as we grow into the likeness of your Son;
Lead us by your Spirit to go out and make disciples of others.
God of our journeying, be our way and our truth and our life;
our beginning and our end.
We pray through Jesus our Lord. Amen.
