Nutrition ProblemThe deteriorating food security situation in belg-dependent parts of Ethiopia, and particularlyin SNNPR and eastern Amhara, is the priority concern at present. However, there is a need for continued monitoring of rainfall performance and its impact onconditions on the ground in southern and southeastern lowlands of Ethiopia as thegu rainy season progresses; to date, therains' performance has generally been timely and normal.
