0ut of 27 384 Natura 2000 sites 3024 are marine sites, covering about 318 000 km² (latest N2000 barometer, based on the 2014 data, using only GIS approach)

over 66500 km2 added,64 new sites, with contributions from 4 MS: ES, BG, IE, LT.
