NIGHT VISION EFFECT

Step 1: Upload footage

The first thing I done is simply uploaded the shortvideo of myself. I added the other componentswhich will be needed for this.

I downloaded an audio sound of a recording glitchas well as the visuals of a screen glitch. This will be added in the later stages of my short video.

Step 2: Adding simple night vision effectIn Adobe After Effects, there is an ‘effects and pre-sets' location, filled with many tools which can be used to amend the composition.

There is a specific night vision effect & pre-set, and I dragged this over my initial video layer. On the timeline, I copied my initial footage layer so I can add the night vision into the copied layer, making the video look like a normal camera being switched into night vision mode.

Within the effects control, I can adjust the settings of the nigh vision effect. For instance the saturation, colour, feathering and also the noise.

Step 3: Uploading glitch sounds and effectAfter downloading the glitch sound file, I dragged it onto my time line. I copied this twice, and then adjusted the sounds to make it seem like a realistic glitch sound. I then inserted the glitch video into my timeline. I went to the blending options and selected “add” so that the glitch is blended to the layer below (being my video).

Step 4: Finalizing

I moved the sound and the glitch effect into the right position of my timeline to give it a realistic look. I also added a solid text layer and put the text ‘REC’ onto the top right hand corner to make it look even more realistic.
