FACULTY OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
UPU CODE: UE4524001
DIPLOMA IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
EH110
FULL TIME: 6 SEMESTER
LOCATION AVAILABLE: UiTM JOHOR, TERENGGANU & SARAWAK
Pasir Gudang, Johor Bukit Besi, Terengganu Samarahan, Sarawak
DIPLOMA IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING The Diploma in Chemical Engineering provides comprehensive fundamental background, which enables graduates to enter industry with sound technical knowledge and confidence. The Diploma also provides a springboard to enter the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Chemical and Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Environment) with Honours in the third semester and Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Oil and Gas in the second semester and pursue further higher academic achievements. Presently, the Diploma programme is offered at the UiTM Johor, Terengganu and Sarawak campuses.
MODE AND DURATIONFulltime and 6 semesters.
Malaysia is a rapidly developing country, which is in need of highly-skilled and technically adept Chemical Engineers. Graduates from the Diploma of Chemical Engineering program can expect to find vocations as Technical Support Operatives, Assistant Engineers and Service Engineers in a wide range of fields, including the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and the oil and gas industries.
Apart from that, our Diploma graduates can also find employment in various other job requirements such as in maintaining and managing natural resources (petroleum and palm oil), recycling materials and protecting the environment.
As new industries are emerging, more sophisticated skills are expected. To meet these challenges, graduates can always upgrade their knowledge or further their studies either locally or abroad to become full-fledge engineers.

FACILITIES
The Faculty of Chemical Engineering offers a wide range of facilities to help the students in their learning and research activities:
Fully Equipped Laboratories
• The Faculty of Chemical Engineering has advanced
laboratories and equipments that enhance students’
experience by providing the opportunity for students to
engage in advanced laboratory experiments. All the
campuses (Bukit Besi, Pasir Gudang and Samarahan)
that offered this program are fully equipped with the
latest laboratory facilities. Such facilities also help
students to understand the use of modern scientific
instruments.
• Among the Faculty’s advanced facilities include
laboratories and associated instruments for organic and
inorganic chemis-try, analytical instruments, process
control, fluid mechanic, unit operation, chemical reaction
and biodiesel pilot plant. In our laboratories, students are
taught on how to operate and manipulate the
equipments/instruments based on science and
engineering fundamentals. The equipments that we have
meet the curriculum standards and are comparable with
the existing equipments used in chemical engineering
industry.
Conducive Study Environment:
• Teaching & learning facilities (classrooms & lecture
theaters)
• Library equipped with online resources
• Student recreational/ discussion areas
• The Faculty supports students toparticipate in external innovation, invention and design (IID) competitions. For example, in 2013, 2014 and 2015, theFaculty supported students to participatein National Chemical EngineeringSymposium (NACES) and IID.
• In 2013, our students have won 7 goldmedals at IID Terengganu. In NACES2013 our student has won in case studycompetition as well as chemicalengineering challenge (third place). Theseachievements prove the passion andenthusiasm of the lecturers and studentsin innovation projects.
