1945: College of Pedagogy > Academy of Pedagogy

1974: University of Split established

1978 to 1990: Humanities and Social Studies as department of nearby University of Zadar

1998: Faculty of Primary Education as part of the University in Split

2001: Department of Humanities as part of the University in Split

2005: Faculty of Primary Education and the Department of Humanities merged into a new institution - the
