Family Mosaic is one of the largest housing providers in London and the South East. We provide affordable homes to rent and buy as well as care and support services to thousands of people who need extra support. We have around 23,000 homes for rent and serve more than 45,000 people. We provide a range of opportunities for our customers such as training, employment and access to learning. We partner local communities to make our neighbourhoods better places to live.

There are over 1,400 housing associations in England. Collectively, they own or manage around 1.8 million homes that are rented out to people on low incomes or benefits. Although independent, housing associations are regulated by the state and commonly receive public funding, reinvesting any trading surplus into existing homes and building new houses. They also provide supported accommodation, with specialist projects for people with, for example, learning disabilities, mental health or substance misuse issues.

When people think of a

housing association, they usually think

of a house.

We think about the people who

live there.

It might be a family with two young teenage boys.

(which is why we run an award-winning

Youth Academy, organising activities

like football training, dance classes and

fashion shows)

It may be a single parent who wants to get back into work.

(which is why we provide an award-winning

careers advice and training service, helping

people to move on and become more

independent)

It could be an older person who has recently had a fall.

(which is why we run an award-winning

Home Improvement Agency that adapts

older people’s homes – with, for example, a

wet room – so they don’t have to go into a

care home, or can leave hospital quicker)

It might be a young woman with learning difficulties.

(which is why we provide specialist,

personalised care to thousands of people

in Essex, London and the South East,

whether in their homes or in our top-rated

care and supported housing schemes)

It could be a young couple looking for a home to buy.

(which is why we offer a range of different

home ownership products, including

shared ownership, social homebuy and

outright purchase)

It might be a teacher who’s just returned home from a hard day in the classroom.

(which is why we’re constantly improving

our basic landlord services, whether it’s

fixing a repair, upgrading a kitchen or

servicing a boiler)

Over 45,000 people live in our homes.

Every one of them has individual needs, hopes and experiences.

We will do all we can to promote their health, wealth and wellbeing.

That’s our role as a home maker.
