Given in marriage by herfather and son, Harper BluePrice, the bride wore a Galinastrapless lace gown. She carrieda bouquet of cream-coloredGerbera daisies.

Matron of honor was DonnaGreilick. Whitney Darter,cousin of the bride, served asbridesmaid. They wore strap-less sage green dresses and car-ried bouquets of Gerberadaisies.

Luke Palmer was the bestman, and Casey McMorroughwas the groomsman. JamesGreilick served as the Scripturereader.

Flower girl was MaceyDixon, and ring bearers wereJackson Dixon and RileyHeflin. Ushers were ColeThomas, Jared French and LukeJohnston. Anna and CameronJohnston were the guest bookattendants.

The couple resides inMorrilton where the bride isemployed as a speech languagepathologist by Arch Ford Co-op, and the groom is employedby the Arkansas HighwayDepartment as a surveyor.

Solgohachiapostmaster toretire July 25

The postal employees atSolgohachia Post Office inviteeveryone to drop by to congrat-ulate and say goodbye to thepostmaster, Cheryl Paladino,who is retiring. Come between9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday,July 25, in the lobby at theSolgohachia Post Office. Cake,punch and coffee will be served.

Paladino began her postalcareer as a part-time postmasterrelief at Center Ridge from1986 to 1989, then as a ruralcarrier associate at Bee Branchfrom 1989 to 1990. In April of1990 she became a rural carrierat Bee Branch until 1993.

She was assigned three offi-cer in charge appointments atQuitman, Adona and Perry,before being sworn in as post-master at Adona on Sept. 18,1993. She was postmaster atAdona until April 14, 1998,when she was appointed post-master at Solgohachia. She hasserved as postmaster ofSolgohachia for 14 years andthree months.

Please stop by and wish herwell and swap a few stories.Paladino says “It has been anhonor and a privilege to serve mycustomers at Solgohachia for somany years and has made somewonderful memories.” She isnow looking forward to spendingtime with all her family.

This has been another longlonesome Sunday. We have hadvery little rain, but we do appre-ciate what we have gotten. Wehave sold some cattle alongwith a long line of other people.

Tiffany and Earl Johnson,Trent, Colton and Blaine spentpart of this past week with Jimmy,Kathleen and Bradley. They tookthe boys to Tiffany’s favoriteplace to go, Magic Springs FunPark, and they had fun.

The next day, Friday, theyspent on Petit Jean Mountain,looked at the animals, prettyscenery and went swimming inthe pool. They went hometoday, Sunday, after a nice vaca-tion. Sarah, Morgan, Williamand I ate supper with themFriday night.

I was glad to hear that VernaCharton was home from thehospital and hope she continuesto get better.

DeAnna Story had a birthdaycelebration Saturday and theyall had a good time playing inthe pool with family andfriends. I am happy to see herdoing so well after her surgery.Her grandmother, Reba, joinedthem for the get-together.

Anna, Alex and Hunter Smithhave all gone to Bible school atthe Methodist Church inMorrilton this week and I wentwith them to their program lastnight. They all went back thismorning for another showing ofit.

Robert, Melba and familywent to Hot Springs Saturday tovisit with Melba’s sister, GloriaWelch. There aren’t many dayswhen they can all be off fromwork and go at the same time.

Congratulations to Justin andJennifer Crowder who weremarried at Kilgore church onSaturday.

Sandra spent some time withBryan and Carter Mahan lastweek and will stay with themsome this week.

All the teachers are still hav-ing workshops at various times.

Sarah, Mark and Morganhave been doing some repairsand painting on the interior oftheir home. I’m sure Williamhas been giving some directionsand suggestions.

Bethel Parish got a goodreport on her tests and I’mthankful.

Be careful and try to staycool. Several flowers haveblown off graves at KilgoreCemetery.

Pups summer camp,youth football registration next week

Morrilton Little Pups’ YouthSummer Football Camp andYouth Football SeasonRegistration will be held at theDevil Dog Stadium July 23, 24,and 26 for the third- and fourth-grades and July 30, 31, and Aug2 for fifth- and sixth-grades.

Camp and football seasonregistration is 6 to 7 each nightwith football camp from 7 to 8each night.

A limited number of slots areavailable for each grade forFootball Season Registration.There is no limit on camp slots.

Camp only is $30 (priceincludes camp T-shirt) and foot-ball season only is $60. Campand football season is $75 (priceincludes camp T-shirt).

Maurice Jeffers who wasselected by the NBA’s Sacra-mento Kings in the secondround of the 1991 draft and2012 first round draft pick andShekinna Stricklen of theWNBA’s Seattle Storm will beon hand to greet fans and signautographs.

The event is free to the pub-lic. Donations are welcomeand all proceeds will benefitthe MHS Athletic Department.

Endzone Clubelects officers, readies for season

The Morrilton Endzone Clubmet June 25 and filled two offi-cer positions vacated by parentsof graduating seniors. MichelleBurgess was elected secretaryand Cindy Jolly was elected toserve as publicity coordinatorfor the upcoming season.Returning officers include JillBeall, president; Jamie Poteete,vice president; and JerryPerkins, treasurer.

The Endzone Club is partner-ing with Allison Ford for its“Drive One 4 UR School” fund-raising event. On Saturday,Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,Ford will donate $20 to the clubfor each person who comes outto the high school parking lotand test drives a new Ford vehi-cle (one per household).

The Club can earn up to$6,000 during the event (up to300 test drives), and we encour-age you all to come out and sup-port our efforts. We will also beselling hamburger meals from11 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day ($5)and have snow cones availablefor purchase.

Other upcoming events forthe club include running theconcession stand at the Maroonand Gray games on Aug. 16-17,as well as the annual TailgateParty before the first homegame on Sept. 7.

The club is currently stillseeking advertisers for the fieldsigns hung around the stadiumand both meal and locationsponsors to feed the teams dur-ing the season this fall.
