Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program

Purpose: • To attract qualified students to the fields of transportation education and

research, and to advance transportation workforce development.

• Eligible participants are students pursing degrees in transportation-related disciplines starting from Sophomore Year to Doctoral level (Depending on fellowship category).

Awards: • Approximately 150 - 200 awards annuallyAmount: • $35,500 - $1,500

Garrett A. Morgan Technology and Transportation Education Program

Improve the preparation of students, particularly women and minorities, in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics

(STEM) through curriculum development and other activities related to transportation.

Garrett A. Morgan Technology and Transportation Education Program

Program Objectives:• To build a bridge between America’s youth and the transportation

community;• To improve elementary and secondary (K-12) level students’ skills

in STEM through such means as curriculum development, internships, mentoring programs, and other transportation-related activities;

• To facilitate partnerships among government, academia, and the private sector;

• To increase understanding of the transportation industry and careers, and advance transportation workforce development.

National Summer Transportation Institute Program

To address the need of a diverse workforce in the 21st century and to promote greater awareness of career opportunities within the transportation industry.

National Summer Transportation Institute Program

Purpose: • To promote awareness of Science, technology; engineering and math (STEM)

educational and career opportunities among disadvantaged and at-risk middle and high school students around the country.

Administrating Office: • Office of Civil Rights

Summer Transportation Internship Program Diverse Groups

Purpose:To provide college/university students with hands-on experience and on-the-job training while working on current transportation-related topics and issues.

The STIPDG is open to all qualified applicants but is designed to provide qualified women, persons with disabilities, and members of diverse groups with summer opportunities in transportation where these groups have been under-represented.

2016 STIPDG application period is now OPEN!Application Deadline: January 15, 2016.

Pathways - Internship Program

Purpose: • Designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational

institutions with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed.

• Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service. Additional information about the Internship Program can be found at www.usajobs.gov/studentsandgrads/ .

Eligibility Requirements• U.S. Citizens in an accredited college; advanced degree programs; or other

qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
