Is a country house set in 6,5 ha ,locate in Woodside California. Was built in 1915-17for William Bower’s Bourn the second and his wife Agnes. The designer was architect Willis Polk ,he used a free Georgian style. Filoli served as one of the Bourn’s residence from 1917-1936 when Mr Bourn was president of the “Spring Valley Water Company” The name of the estate is an acronym formed by combining the first two letters from the key words of Bourn’s credo” Fight for a just cause, Love your fellow man, Live a good life”.
Today Filoli is open for public tours. Several areas of garden include some especially designed for wedding.
The garden are maintained by local volunteers.
Filoli has served as the set for many Hollywood movies.
