Lecturer John Ruddy• A University of Connecticut graduate, where he is now in his sixth year of teaching.

• Teaches J3030, copy editing

• Currently employed as copy desk chief at The Day in New London where he has worked for 24 years.

Associate Professor Robert Wyss

• Currently in his ninth year as a professor at the University of Connecticut.• Has 30 years of experience writing for a number of daily newspapers.• He is the author of two published books.

“Many people don’t know that I have a strong interest in environmental journalism.” – Robert Wyss

Lecturer Terese Karmel

“I am a big sports fan and love to play in various fantasy games. Also love horseracing and have a part share in a thoroughbred, Soda Pop Kid, who runs in NY.” – Terese Karmel

• Working in her 15th year teaching at The University of Connecticut.

• Graduated with a bachelors degree from George Washington University and went on to get her masters at the University of Connecticut.

• Has written for The Willimantic Chronicle, The Hartford Courant, and www.sportspagemagazine.com.

Associate Professor

William Lewis• In his first year working full time at the University of Connecticut.

• Worked in radio news during college and for seven years after in Seattle and San Francisco.

• Was employed for 19 years at the Hartford Courant as a business reporter and weekend editor.

Lecturer Mitchell Pearlman• Graduate of University of Pittsburgh and University of Connecticut School of Law.• In his sixth year teaching at the University of Connecticut.• Has taught a seminar in international human rights at University of Connecticut School of Law.
