You have two cards that are selected from a deck of cards in sequence.

Find the probability that the second card is a queen, given the first card

is the king??

The first step is to recognize that there are only 55 cards left in the deck

because you have already taken out the king. So there are 4 queens and now there’s only 51 cards left in the

deck.

4/51 = .078

The conditional probability of the queen popping up in the next card

is .078.
