English as a foreign language (EFL) refers to

English to students whose first language is not

English. EFL usually occurs in the student's own

A foreign language is the language that is used

within the walls of academic institutions. You

study at schools. You cannot use it with common

people around.

TESL or teaching English as a second language

refers to teaching English to students whose first

language is not English and is usually offered in a

region where English is the dominant language
