What is a “Foldable Note”?

A foldable note is a three dimensional graphic organizer styled page of info in a student’s notebook

Can take on a variety of forms, complexities and detail

They “reinvent” the traditional style of writing notes

Foldable Notes Designed to further engage students in the mapping of

their math learning

Can be used effectively to present new information and/or to summarize content

Might just reinvigorate your practice

“Foldable Notes” are NOT…

…a time filler for class time

…guaranteed to raise your test scores or make every kid understand

…limited to just basic content

How does one “make” a Foldable Note?

Here’s what you need:Source of inspiration - Colleague, friend, mentor

- Pintrest, Social Networking, etc.

Creativity Willingness (courage?) to take a risk

The basic steps:1) Brainstorm the “need to know info”?

2) How can that info be clearly mapped, organized, engaging for kids to create?!

3) Is it interactive?
