Folio’s Summer Release

August 2016

Some of the New Folio Features:

● You can now log in to Folio using your School’s Google Account credentials.

● We have updated and refreshed the look/user interface of Folio.

● Goals in Folio have added features and have been improved to make entering them easier.

● You can add Certifications to the Education section of your Folio Profile.

● You can now complete your Education section of the Folio Profile without having a degree.

Single Sign-On with

Google is here!

1. To sign on using your Google Account, click the “Sign in with Google” button.

2. If you are already logged into your Google Account, you will be taken to the “Request for Permission” screen.

3. You will be prompted to allow Folio to:● View your email address● View your basic profile info

4. Then, just click “Allow” and you are in!

Your DashboardWhen you first log into Folio you are taken to your Dashboard.

Here, you can track your Milestones, Shine a Spotlight or check your Profile completion.

Access your Profile by clicking on your nameThis will take you to your Profile page where you can start to complete your profile

Use the widget called “Complete your profile” to walk you through completing your profile items.

You can also get to your Profile items (except Goals) by clicking “About.” Goals are their own menu item between About and Notes.

NOTE: To edit the items on this page, click the “pencil” icons

EducationThe Education Profile component now includes Degrees and Certifications

Users without degrees or certifications can still complete the Education section of their Profile by checking the Confirmation box and clicking "Save Education"

Goals● In Folio, Goals consist of a Body (we recommend it being in the

form of a question) and one or more Action Items with due dates. ● Now, you can also add Resources (files or links) as well as

Reflections to your Goals page.

Notes allow you to communicate with your supervisor, or anyone else you can write notes for you or for whom you can write notes.

The Note Types (Conversation, Goals Meeting, Mid-Cycle Conversation, Year-End Summary and Classroom Observation) available to you will depend on the particular settings of your school’s Folio site.

● Resources provide the flexibility of informing your Supervisor using supplemental information that might be relevant to your

evaluation and growth. ● A Resource can be a Word document, Excel file, jpeg, or a URL, such

as a YouTube site.
