As promised last year, our membership fee for 2017-2018 U3A year will be £15 and this can be paid either by cash or cheque which should be

A limited number of tickets have been allocated to us for this Christmas 2017 visit.

In order to secure these tickets we must have definite numbers.

This involves an overnight stay at Caley Hall Hotel, Old Hunstanton. Dinner, bed and breakfast £159 per person, £22.00 single

Visit Hodsock Priory, near Blyth for a guided tour of the House followed by light

luncheon and the opportunity to see the bluebells in flower.

5th Book GroupThe 5th Book Group which is now called

'THE FIFTH CHAPTER' will be meeting monthly at the White Lion 24 Middle Street Beeston Nottingham NG9 1FX

every 2nd Wednesday starting at 10am from 13th September.

Bowls GroupBowl sessions are arranged for all Fridays at 10.30am lasting 2 hours - all members welcome.Numbers are gradually increasing and we had 8 persons attending which meant we had 2 lanes open.However, the other two weekly roll-up sessions are Mondays 12.30pm – 2.30pm, and Thursdays 2.30pm –4.30pm. U3A bowlers were invited to just turn up to these sessions, and play with their U3A friends.

Buddies

There will be no Buddies meeting in August.

French conversation

The last French Conversation Group meeting is on Monday 10th

July. It will recommence on Monday 11th September.

New Greek Group

Learn Greek from the beginning. We meet 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of

the month at the Methodist Church

at 10am.Come and join us

German conversation The German conversation group will

not meet in August. The next meeting will be at 10.00am on Tuesday 5th

September at The White Lion. We will be discussing our holidays. This is a small group with varying levels of

ability in spoken German. New members are welcome.

Practical Gardening GroupThe Practical Gardening Group has

changed the day it meets each month and the room where we meet in order

New Group - AstronomyAstronomy is one of the oldest physical sciences. The night sky and its array of

stars, wandering planets, changing moon phases, occasional comets and meteor

showers, and in far northern and southern latitudes, shimmering auroras, have

fascinated mankind and stimulated the imagination of generations. – We are

looking for member[s] to run the above group

2nd Medium Walks GroupA meeting will be arranged for the above group to discuss moving forward we have a member who is willing to do the Communications for

the Group and there are now 5 members who are willing to lead a walk.
