DRUG ENDANGERED CHILDREN

WARNING SIGNS: € Children’s access to contraband € Evidence of abuse, neglect and maltreatment of children € Child’s appearance (e.g., poor overall hygiene,

€ Sleeping conditions/arrangements € Fire hazards € Pest and animal hazards (e.g., rodents, roaches, human or animal feces, etc.)

including dental; inappropriate or insufficient clothing; etc.) € Drugs and/or drug paraphernalia

€ Poor home conditions: - Building code violations - Exposed wiring

€ Weapons (e.g., guns, knives, etc.) - Broken windows € Pornography/sex paraphernalia - Holes in flooring or wall € Chemicals - Functional utilities (water, gas, air) € Any strong odors - Presence of mold € Raw sewage - Inoperable smoke detectors € Food availability in refrigerator and cupboards € Evidence, or lack thereof, of school attendance € Code Enforcement violations € Evidence of gang lifestyle € Evidence of domestic violence or other violence € Dangerous animals/reptiles € Illegal diversion of utilities
