• Includes 2 stages, a Plan Strategy followed by a Local Policies Plan

• Underlying principle that planning decisions must have regard to the Local Development Plan

A Statement of Community Involvement Sets out:

• A statement of the Council’s policy for involving the community in development proposals

• How the community will be engaged in the preparation of the new Local Development Plan and in determining planning applications and enforcement

TimetableTimetable

Following publication of the final SCI, the Council must prepare a Timetable :• sets out the timeframe for each stage of the

Plan

• agree timescales for independent examination with Planning Appeals Commission

• get approval from the Department of Environment for the timetable

Preferred Options Paper

• This is first stage of consulting on the Local Development Plan

• The Preferred options paper will set out a series of options for dealing with key issues in the plan area; and

• Include the Council’s preferred option based on evidence gathered and evaluation
