More Programs Running, More Main Memory?

Demonstration for use of CPU and use of main memory

• Press CTRL+ALT+DEL > Choose Task Manager.

• Start to open 1 program at a time. What do you observe?

• Answer: WB P10 Q3The CPU’s usage increases for a while before it drops. Then the memory usage increases.

• The amount of memory used by a program increases with the program’s activity

• The amount of memory used increases with more programs being opened.

1. You do not need to install/download software.

2. Find a software that you like.

3. Click on it.

4. Find out how much storage space is required.

5. Jot down the software name and its required space on WB P.12.

6. Repeat these steps to obtain one more software.
