PROSTHESIS

• Prosthetics is the design, fabrication and fitting of custom-made artificial limbs or other assistive devices for patients who have lost limbs as a result of traumatic injuries, vascular diseases, diabetes, cancer or congenital disorders

UPPER LIMB PROSTHESIS:PARTIAL HAND:

• Amputation through fingers or hand.

WRIST DISARTICULATION:

• Amputation through wrist.

• Radius and ulna completely present.

TRANSRADIAL PROSTHESIS:

• Amputation through radial bone.

ELBOW DISARTICULATION:

• Amputation through elbow.

• Radius and ulna loss where is humerus completely present.

TRANSHUMERAL PROSTHESIS

• Amputation through humerous.

SHOULDER DISARTICULATION:

• Amputation through shoulder.

LOWERLIMB PROSTHESIS:PARTIAL FOOT:

• Through foot amputation.

ANKLE DISARTICULATION:

• Through ankle.

• Tibiail and fibial prominence present.

TRANSTIBIAL PROSTHESIS

• Amputation through tibia bone.

KNEE DISARTICULATION:

• Femoral bone present where as patella and tibia completely loss.

TRANSFEMORAL PROSTHESIS

• Through femur amputation.

HIP DISARTICULATION

• Femur completely loss.

REASON OF AMPUTATION

• Amputation is a result of traumatic injuries, vascular diseases, diabetes, cancer or congenital disorders mostly.
