GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN

Joshua 14 : 12

Now therefore give me this mountain whereof the LORD

spoke in that day, for thou heardest in that day how the

Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and

fortified. If it so be that the LORD will be with me, then I

shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said."

Sheshai, Ahiman and Taimal

A DIFFERENT SPIRIT Numbers 14 : 24

But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.

SLAVE MENTALITY Vs. A DIFFERENT SPIRIT

OUR IDENTITY : SONSHIP Vs. SLAVERY / POSITION / POWER / MONEY

Romans 8 : 14 - 17 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about

your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17

Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that

we may also share in his glory.

Galatians 4 : 3 – 7 So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces of the world. 4 But when the set time

had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive

adoption to sonship. 6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his

child, God has made you also an heir.

POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE Attitude determines your altitude

An Optimist sees

opportunity

in every

calamity;

A Pessimist sees

calamity

in every

opportunity.

Numbers 13 : 28, 33 "The people who live there are powerful, and the cities

are fortified and very large. We saw descendants of Anak there. WE SEEMED LIKE GRASSHOPPERS IN OUR OWN

EYES AND WE LOOKED THE SAME TO THEM"

INTEGRITY

Joshua 14 : 7 – 8 And I brought back an honest and accurate report.

My companions who went with me discouraged the people, but I stuck to my guns, totally with

GOD, my God.

DEPENDANCE ON GOD INSTEAD OF HUMAN WISDOM

Jeremiah 17 : 5 - 7

“Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws

strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away

from the LORD.” That person will be like a bush in the

wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes.

They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a

salt land where no one lives. 7 “But blessed is the one

who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.”

Human wisdom is foolishness in God’s sight

1 Corinthians 3 : 19

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in

God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the

wise in their craftiness”

CHANGE OR BE A FAILURE, A DIFFERENT MINDSET. OLD COVENANT Vs. NEW COVENANT TEACHING

The only constant in this world is change

LETTING GO OF THE PAST

Philippians 3 : 13

Brothers and sisters, I do

not consider myself yet to

have taken hold of it. But

one thing I do: Forgetting

what is behind and

straining toward what is

ahead.

HEAR AND OBEY GOD’S VOICE

Deuteronomy 1 : 20 – 22 Then I said to you, “You have reached the hill country of the

Amorites, which the LORD our God is giving us. 21 See, the LORD your God has given you the land. Go up and take possession of it as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, told you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” 22 Then all of you came to me and said, “Let us send men ahead to spy out the land for us and bring back a report

about the route we are to take and the towns we will come to.”

TIMINGS

Ecclesiastes 9 : 11 I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does

food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.

MAKING THE RIGHT DECISIONS

Deuteronomy 1 : 20 - 22

Then I said to you, “You have reached the hill country of

the Amorites, which the LORD our God is giving us. 21

See, the LORD your God has given you the land. Go up

and take possession of it as the LORD, the God of your

ancestors, told you. Do not be afraid; do not be

discouraged.” 22 Then all of you came to me and said,

“Let us send men ahead to spy out the land for us and

bring back a report about the route we are to take and

the towns we will come to.”
