8 THINGS GOD DOESN’T WANT

God Doesn’t Want Me To Be Quiet

Double Standards?

Right to speech. Sinners expect and demand the right to advocate for sin.

Then will not defend the right of Christians to advocate for Christ. They want us to be quiet!

We Are Commanded to Proclaim Jesus!

The visible nature of Christians:

Matthew 5:14-16 -- “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 10:27 -- What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.

2 Corinthians 4:13

Believing and speaking are conjoined:

2 Corinthians 4:13 --But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE,” we also believe, therefore we also speak,

We Are A Family of Proclaimers

1 Peter 2:9 -- But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light….

1 John 1:3

…what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:28

We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.

Even When They Don’t Want To Hear

Acts 4:18-20 -- And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them… we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Acts 5:20

“Go, stand and speak to the people in the temple the whole message of this Life.”

In jail, released by God, preached, arrested, flogged, praised God.

2 Timothy 4:1-4

I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus…preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine…and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

When Should We Be Silent?

1 Thess. 4:11 --…and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you….

Ephesians 4:29

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
