Expect the extraordinary
Day 1- New Delhi

welcomed by your &Beyond India host and chauffeured to your hotel
“Oberoi Hotel, Delhi”.
Check in time at the hotel is 1400 hours.
The Oberoi is located in New Delhi, India’s capital city. The Oberoi New
Delhi reflects the city’s spirit in a harmonious blend of tradition and
contemporary sophistication. Located close to the city centre near
business, commercial and shopping districts, the luxury hotel overlooks
Delhi’s prestigious Golf Club on one side and the heritage site of

New Delhi, the capital of India is a modern buzzing metropolitan city
with remnants of the past strewn amongst the modern buildings. Much
of New Delhi was planned by Sir Edwin Lutyen’s, who laid out a
grandiose central administrative area as a testament to British imperial
pretensions.
Delhi was established between 900 B.C and 1930. Delhi's famous "seven
cities" range from the 12th century Quila Rai Pithora, built by Prithviraj
Chauhan, to the imperial Shahjahanabad, constructed by the Mughals
in the 17th century.
Of the many attractions in Delhi, the major sites are the Rashtrapati
Bhawan designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens as the British Viceroys Palace,
Shahjahanabad (Old Delhi) where the Red Fort is, or Jama Masjid in the
famed Chandni Chowk in the heart of Old Delhi.
Spend two nights at Oberoi Delhi. Accommodation is in a Premier Plus
Room with ensuite facilities. Your stay is on bed & breakfast basis.

Day 2 - New Delhi/ Agra
This morning, you will be met and driven to Agra. (Approx 3 ½ hours’
drive)
Agra: The city of Agra flourished under the patronage of the emperors
Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan and attracted artisans from Persia and
central Asia. Agra is where Emperor Shah Jahan engraved his immortal
love for his Empress in marble, the Taj Mahal. Agra is still famous for
handicrafts products such as inlay work on marble, carpets, jewellery,
zari and embroidery work.
On arrival you will be met and assisted with your check in at The Oberoi
Amarvilas. Considered as one of India’s best hotels, The Oberoi
Amarvilas stands unmatched in its grandeur and style. Being only 600
mtrs away from the Taj Mahal, every single room in this property looks
over the monument.
Once you have settled in, you will embark on a guided tour of the Itmad-
ud-Daulah and the Taj Mahal; to view it by Sunset.
Itmad-ud-Daulah: Created almost a decade before the Taj Mahal, this
tomb was the first of its kind to be built on the banks of the Yamuna
river. It belonged to Mizra Ghiyas Beg, the Persian nobleman who was
Mumtaz Mahals (in whoms memory the Taj was built) grandfather and
Akbar and Jehangir’s advisor.
Taj Mahal: Said to be one of the most elegant and a harmonious building
in the world, Taj Mahal is the manifestation of the wealth and luxury
of Mughal art as seen in its architecture, garden design, painting, and
calligraphy.
Please Note: The entry tickets for visiting the Taj Mahal will be valid
for 3 Hrs only. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has declared
that the Main Dome & 04 Cupola’s would undergo clay packing W.e.f.
April 2018 till November 2018. They would restart the restoration work
from the front facia of the Dome from April & move on towards the rear
side in anti-clockwise direction so that in beginning September the
scaffoldings do not interfere with the view of the Taj while one enters
the complex. However the view from Mehtab Bagh would remain
interfered between August & November as per our assumptions. At
present as per the ASI’s timeline the entire work on the main building
of the Taj Mahal would be completed till November 2018.
Spend One Night at Oberoi Amar Vilas, Agra. Accommodation will be
in a Premier Room . Your stay will be on Bed & Breakfast Basis.

monument in its various hues.
Followed by a visit to the Agra Fort.
Agra Fort - One of the finest Mughal forts in India, Agra Fort was built
entirely out of red sandstone by Akbar in the 16th century over an
existing mud-brick fortification created by the Lodi’s. This fort was
occupied by four generations of Mughal Emperors and functioned as
their headquarters when Agra was the capital. Additional palaces and
courtyards were built in white marble by Emperor Shah Jahan who
resided and was eventually imprisoned here by his son Aurangzeb for
eight years in the white marble tower and palace called Musamman Burj
and Khas Mahal which overlooked Taj Mahal, the tomb of his wife
Mumtaz. Other notable buildings in the fort are the Diwan-e-Am &
Diwan-e-Khas (halls of public and private audience), Pearl Mosque,
Jehangir’s Palace and Shish Mahal (mirrored palace).

with boulder-strewn highland plateaus, lakes and rivers - dotted with
old forts and abandoned mosques - creating a wonderful atmosphere
for both bird and mammal viewing. Ranthambhore is perhaps most
famous for being one of the original 'Project Tiger' reserves and it still
affords one of the best opportunities anywhere in India of seeing a
tiger. At the centre of the park lay the ruins of the 10th to 16th century
Ranthambhore Fort which dominates the leafy forests from its perch
atop a dramatic rocky outcrop.

You return to your accommodation for breakfast after the morning drive

park again in the afternoon.
The entire forest has scattered battlements & spill overs of the

modernity and tradition exist side by side. The walled city, vibrant with
colours, houses the City Palace, an astronomical observatory and a
bustling bazaar where artisans fashion puppets, silver jewellery, lac
bangles and other handicrafts in their workshops. At a short distance is
the Amber Fort Palace at Amber.
www.andBeyond.com Golden Triangle & Magnificent Indian Wildlife– 2019-20
Upon arrival, you will drive straight to your hotel - Oberoi Rajvilas and
check-in. Recreating the magnificence of princely Rajasthan, in a
beautiful fort setting, with Jaipur as its backdrop; The Oberoi
Rajvilas is set in 32 acres of landscaped gardens with pavilions and
reflection pools that create the romance and grandeur of Rajasthan. All
rooms have large four poster beds and sunken marble baths overlooking
private walled gardens. Air-conditioned luxury tents have embroidered
interior canopies, old style baths and outdoor decks.
Spend Three Nights at Oberoi Raj Vilas, Jaipur. Accommodation will

The City Palace is a wonderful combination of Mughal and Rajput forms
of architecture, is now partly a museum housing miniature paintings,
manuscripts, Mughal carpets, musical instruments, royal costumes and
weapons, giving invaluable insight into Jaipur's royal past.
Hawa Mahal (Photo Stop): The focal point of the city of Jaipur is the
Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, a five storey high Baroque- like
structure built to enable the veiled ladies of the harem to observe the
street scenes below and remain unnoticed.
Observatory Tower: Also known as the Jantar Mantar, which was built
between 1728 and 1734 and houses precise instruments for measuring
“the harmony of heavens” each instrument serves a particular function
and gives an accurate reading. Some of the instruments at the
www.andBeyond.com Golden Triangle & Magnificent Indian Wildlife– 2019-20
astronomical observatory are still used today to forecast the weather
and the turns of nature
After your interpretive adventure, you will have the opportunity of
embarking on a walking tour of the market in the old city. Visit the
Maniharon ka rasta (bangle makers lane), then walk to the Thada
market (wholesale area), followed by a tour of the wedding market.
Afterwards, cross through the flower market and pass by a few temples
on the way, along with many small stalls.
Day 9 – Jaipur
Visit Amber Fort followed by Anokhi Museum
The historical fort of Amer is ideally placed on a high hill overlooking
the Maota Lake with its saffron garden island, 11 kilometres from the
pink city of Jaipur and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built
in 1593, but fully completed in the 18th century, the Fort is quartered,
each boasting a private courtyard. True to the times, the Fort features
Indo-Islamic design, illustrating ruddy sandstone and pearlescent
marble, with massive bulwarks and successions of ingresses along
charming cobbled pathways. An architectural masterwork, the Fort
channels the wind to breeze over a water cascade within the palace,
brilliantly incorporating an artificial cooling system. The palace and
Fort make up a single compound, separated by a concealed passageway.
This channel was meant as an escape route in times of war that would
allow the royal family and others in the Amer Fort to seek refuge in the
formidable Jaigarh Fort located in the same Mountain Range area.
The Anokhi museum of Hand Printing is located in a wonderfully
restored haveli within walking distance of the Amer Fort, and exhibits
an active acquisition program with a varietal of block printed textiles,
alongside animated images, time honoured photographs, antiquated
wood and brass tools, and related craft-like objects that provide a
window into the lives of an ancient people. The art of block textile
printing can be traced back centuries, easily considered to be the
slowest and oldest form of textile printing, and was practiced across
the East by imprinting various patterns onto textiles, by means of
chiselled wooden blocks. Today, India is one of the largest producers
and exporters of block printed fabrics in the world. The museum also
houses contemporary textiles works, featuring pioneering designs
fashioned by talented artisans. The structure was brilliantly restored
employing traditional resources, age-old design approaches, and expert
local craftsmen, earning a much deserved UNESCO award for ‘Cultural
Heritage Conservation.
