RTMS
• Goldfields Logistics is proudly RTMS accredited since 2013.
What are the benefits of RTMS accreditation?
• Transport operators who invest in becoming RTMS accredited are recognized for their
commitment to responsible business through a series of concessions.
• The most notable is the opportunity to investigate the implementation of the
Performance Based Standards Vehicles (PBS).
• Decrease in traffic violations.
• Decrease in axle overloads.
• Yearly medical assessments for drivers.

Background of the PBS vehicles – N2 North
• In 2015, a decision was taken between Goldfields Logistics and Sappi to do a case
study for the implementation of a PBS vehicle between Tugela and Durban.
• The decision was to implement one PBS vehicle so we could retrieve a comparison
between the three baseline vehicles and the PBS vehicle on the same route.
• The PBS assessment was done by the CSIR and the concept was approved by the
KZN Department of Transport.
• The PBS vehicle was commissioned in September 2016.
