Obituary
Ms. Gracie Mae (Sanders) Sims was born January 7, 1939,
to the late Arizona (Givens) and Theodore Sanders in
Broxton, Georgia. She was married to the late Freddie Lee
Sims for fifty-five years until his death September 7, 2011.
Ms.Gracie attended school at Lott's Crossing of the Coffee
County school system. She was known to be a hard and
faithful worker. She retired from Coffee Regional Hospital
as a cook. She loved serving and caring for others. Gracie
loved fishing and gardening also. She was an active
member of Broxton Church of God in Christ under the
leadership of Pastor Arthur Robinson. After her health
failed, she became a resident of Shady Acres (Vista Park
Health and Rehab) on May 31, 2006.
In addition to her parents and husband Gracie is
preceded in death by one son: Freddie Lee Sims Jr., and
six siblings: Thelma Sanders, Cleveland Sanders, Willie
Sanders, Aretha Poole, Josie Sanders, and Hazel Hention
Rogers.
She leaves to cherish her memories; six children:
Gwendolyn (Larry) Moore, Bobby (Linell) Sims, Willie
Sims, Sharon Callwood, Pamela (Jose) Mendez, and
James Sims; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-
grandchildren; three brothers: Jerome Sanders and
Clinton (Martha) Sanders both of Miami, Fl. and Theodore
Sanders Jr. of Broxton, Ga.; one sister: Louie Sanders
Fussell of Lumber City, Ga. and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.
