Pronouns:special nouns that take the place of

other nouns

Subject Pronouns (Pronouns Before A Verb)

- I- You- He- She- It

- We- They

- This / These- That / Those

Examples- It is going to rain tomorrow.- This is my friend, Charlie.- She can play the piano well.

Object Pronouns (Pronouns After A Verb)

- me- you- him- her- it

- us- them

- this / these- that / those

Examples- Could you pass me the salt?- I will introduce you to her.

- Look at that!

Possessive Pronouns (Pronouns Used To Show Possession)

- mine- yours- his

- hers

- its- ours- theirs

Examples- My car is dirty, but yours is clean.

(yours = your car)- I forgot to bring my laptop, but my friend lent me hers. (hers =

her laptop)- Why are you sitting at that table?

Come sit at ours! (ours = our table)

Examples

Verbs:words that show action or being

Examples

- run- eat- live- be

- have- live- sleep

Adverbs:words that describe adjectives,

verbs, and other adverbs

Examples- She is really happy today.- I usually eat chicken for dinner.- We never saw him at school.- She understands really well.

Examples- I am so hungry!- He speaks loudly.- He speaks very loudly.
