Why This Green Concept Comes Into Existence?

Let Us Take An Overview by a Little Story

Things given by nature to human beings…..

And…..What we have given to our nature????

ThenNature reacts….How?

That’s WHY green concept comes into existence….

MEANING OF GREEN

TECHNOLOGY

Green technology acts to reduce contaminants and harmful processes through directly

counteracting them, or through altering the conditions that create

them.It is the technology which is

environmentally friendly, developed and used in such a way

so that it doesn’t disturb our environment and conserves natural

resources.

Types of Green Technology

*Green Chemistry*Green Nanotechnology*Green Building*Green Information Technology*Green Energy

Green chemistry, also called sustainable chemistry, is a philosophy of chemical research and engineering that encourages the design of products and processes that minimize the use and generation of hazardous substances.

Herbs used in cosmetic products.

GREEN Nano-Technology producing nanomaterials and products without harming the environment or human health.it is used to make nanomaterials and nano-products without toxic ingredients, at low temperatures using less energy and renewable inputs. manufacturing processes for non-nano materials and products more environmentally friendly .

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs)

It refers to a structure and using process that is environmentally responsible and eco friendly too. It involves building's life-cycle: from design, construction, maintenance, renovation, and demolition.

Material used for G. building

Low volatile organic compounds Paint.

Bamboo Flooring.Woven wool for carpeting. Cotton Batt Insulation.Ecological Concrete.Paper Insulation Panels.

Famous Green Buildings of The World…..

BANK OF AMERICA TOWER AT ONE BRYANT PARK, NEW YORK

This $1 billion, 54 storey, 1,200 foot tall tower will house 2.1 million square foot of office space. Most of the raw materials used in the construction of the tower are from renewable and recycled sources within 500 miles of New York in line with the ideology of sustainable building practice.

INDIA TOWER, MUMBAIIt symbolises an

environmental awareness in the world’s second most populous country. India Tower will be 74 storeys tall with 882,000 square foot of multi-use space when completed in 2010. solar shading, natural ventilation, daylighting, rainwater harvesting are used in this building

RESIDENCE ANTILIA, MUMBAIThis is 70 storey, 803 foot tall tower is going to be the home for a single family, that of Indian property mogul Mukesh Ambani. The tower has been designed by Perkins and Will using traditional Vastu design. The design is certainly innovative and should add at least some weight behind the whole idea of rooftop gardens and inner city farms that seems to be gaining some well-deserved traction.

The green IT or green computing, aims to reduce the carbon footprint generated by the Information Systems business. Green information technology and communication designs or uses products which can reduce the negative effects of human activity on the environment.

Green energy is the energy produced by natural sources i.e. sunlight, wind, rain, tides, plants, algae and geothermal heat which put very small impact on the environment than fossil fuels i.e. oil, gas, coal.

Types of green energy•Solar Power•Wind Power• Hydropower•Geothermal Energy•Biofuels

Technical Companies Who

Are Proactive About Being

Green

NokiaNokia was once again recognized as the world’s most sustainable technology company on the 2010/2011 Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Green initiatives at this Finland-based company include an electronics take-back and recycling program, a focus on human rights and multi-year energy use reduction goals.

IntelIn 2010, Intel was named the Greenest Company in America by Forbes magazine. One of Intel’s biggest eco-initiatives is in the green energy arena. According to Forbes, the company uses 1.43 billion kWh of energy annually but 51% comes from renewable sources like solar, wind, geothermal and biomass.

CiscoCisco is another eco-friendly leader in the tech industry. The company has made Fortune’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For since the list originated in 1998. One reason it made 2011’s list is that it has “one of the highest percentages of telecommuters.” Telecommuting saves money in energy costs and reduces tailpipe emissions by eliminating commutes.

DellDell Computers topped the 2010 Newsweek Green Rankings due in part to its aggressive goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions at the company by 40% by 2015. Dell is also focusing on reducing the environmental impact of its product line with a 25% energy use reduction in both its laptop and desktop models.

IBM, LG Electronics, PNB, Tata Motors and Hero Honda Motors, Reliance Industries.

Indian companies using Green Technology

WHAT WE CAN DO FOR OUR NATURE?

•Switch off anything that uses electricity.•Use eco friendly products.•Use renewable energy sources.•Switch to compact florescent or LED light bulbs.•Don't use electronic exercise machines.•Turn off the water when you're not using it.•Avoid using disposable items.•Grow more plants.•Aware mass about the environmental issues and tell them ways to save it.
