TRANSCRIPT
September is the month Georgia Baptist
Churches all across the state will be
receiving the Mission Georgia Offering to
support missions in our state. Several
years ago, I visited a church that had
written on the inside wall above the front
door, “The Mission Field Starts Here.”
How true that is! We live in a vast mission
field called Georgia where approximately
70% of the people are lost. Please ask the
Lord what He would have you give to
support mission work in our state and
then give as He leads.
Let me encourage you to attend the
“Compassionate Ministry” seminar at Emit
Grove BC on Tuesday, September 17
from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Bill Barker, Director
of Appalachian Mountain Ministry for the
GBMB, will be our speaker. Bill has over
17 years of experience in compassionately
ministering to people as we seek to share
the love and Gospel of Jesus with them. A
light supper will be served that evening as
well as refreshments during the break.

Visionary
On Sunday, October 20 from 6:00 – 8:00
PM at New Life BC in Metter, we will have
our annual associational meeting. John
Waters, pastor at FBC Statesboro, will be
preaching that evening. This will be our
first meeting since we adopted our new
Constitution & Bylaws as well as Policies &
Procedures (guiding documents) last year. I
will be sending a letter to each of our
churches explaining how registration will
be different this year based on our new
guiding documents.
Kay and I want to thank you all for praying
for our granddaughter, Hannah. Her open
heart surgery on July 25 went well. She did
have a setback the week of August 11, but
has now fully recovered and is doing well.
She is enrolled at Kennesaw State
University as an Early Childhood Education
Major, and at this time, is taking classes
online.

The summer months have been an exciting time for us here at the
Mann Center. We had our summer camps (Kids 4 Christ, Camp I
Am Jr., Camp I Am, Pooler Bible Church, family reunions, a wed-
ding (my son Andrew), some birthday parties, weekend retreats,
and some picnics. The highlight of the summer for Duane and I was
the Promise Point Baptist Church of Elkland, Missouri and the 1st
Baptist Church of Lowry City, Missouri coming to the Mann Cen-
ter and staying for a week. While these 2 churches were here they
re-shingled one of our cabins and repaired the Sarah Miller building
where a tree had fallen on the roof. This group consisted of John
Long’s daughter Becky and son Clifton plus others. Praise the
LORD for the kind people who came and spent part of their time
working at the Mann Center!!!
We still have projects on our “Wish” list, so if any of your church-
es are looking for projects, please call me (912-531-2946).
Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we are beginning to
slow down as our “slack” season approaches, and we still need
ALL of our churches to support us financially here at the Mann
Center.
GOD bless you all.
