Mainspowermustbedisconnectedbeforeanyinstallationortuningworkstarts.Thesystem installation or maintenance must not be done during stormy conditions.

1.1 FunctionalityELDESEPIR–microcontrollerbasedsecuritysystemforhouses,cottages,countryhomes,garagesandotherbuildings.

1.2 Operation DescriptionSecurityalarmsystemELDESEPIRworkswithGSMnetwork.Thesystemisarmedordisarmedbyacall
fromyourmobilephonewhichdoesn’tincuranycost.ToarmordisarmthealarmsystemtheuserhastocalltothenumberoftheSIMcardinsertedinELDESEPIRdevice.Beforedoingthisitisnecessarytochangethedefaultpasswordandenteratleastoneuser.
Whenalarmsystemnumberhasbeendialedandringingisdroppedafterthreecallsignals–meansthesystemwassuccessfullyarmed.Ifringingisdroppedafteronlyonecallsignal–systemdisarmed.Theusershouldwaituntilthesystemdropscallsautomatically.
TheuserlistedasNr.1getsshortSMSmessageeachtimethesystemissuccessfullyarmedordis-armed.Whensystemisarmedviaphonecall,thereis15seconddelaybeforeactivation,meantforleavingpremises.Thetimedelayisuserconfigurableparameter(seechapter3.3).Redlightemittingdiodeindica-tor(LED)locatedondetectorlensewillstarttoblinkinformingthattimedelayhasbeenengagedandusermustleaveroom.Theredlightgoesoffupontime-outdelayexpirationandsystemisengaged.
Whendetectorisdisarmedandmotionisdetectedintheroom,LEDonthelensewillbeturnedonshortly.Whendetectorisarmedandupondetectionofmotion,systemwillsendSMSmessageuntilsuc-cessfuldeliveryandringpreprogrammednumbersuntiluserpicksuporcallexpires.Ifuseranswersthecall,remotemicrophonegetsactivatedforlistening.
SMSmessagecanbesenttoallpreprogrammedusers(seechapter3.8formoredetails).Thesystemwillautomaticallyswitchtoback–upbatterysupplyincaseofmainspowerfailure,and
usergetsSMSwarningmessage.SMSmessagewillalsonotifywhenmainspowerisrestoredorback-upbatteryisabouttogetdischargedandsystemwillbeswitchedoff.
Theusercanalsoinquirethesystemaboutsystemstatus,powersupplystatus,networkqualityaswellasconnectandlistenthrougharemotemicrophone.
Thesystemwill ignorerequestscomingfromunknowntelephonenumberorSMSmessagewithwrongpassword.WithcorrectpassworduserhasthecapabilitytoaccesssystemmanagementfromanyGSMphone(notnecessarypre-programmed).Seemoredetailsinchapter3.5.
SecuritysystemELDESEPIR868(ELDESEPIRversionwithinstalled868MHzradiotransmitter-receiver)can also operate as an access point for wireless ELDES products: PIR sensors EWP1, sirens, magnetic door/windowsensorsEWD1orexpansionmodulesEW1andEW2.UsingELDEREPIR868youcanaccessupto16wirelessdevicesatatime.YoucanfindmoreinformationaboutusingthesedevicesandchainingthemtoEPIR868inthemanualsoftheseproducts.

RECOMMENDATION
To increase system reliability, it is recommendednot touseprepaid SIM cards.The systemwould fail to send any messages upon depletion of prepaid account. Also it is recommended to disable call forwarding and voice mail.

2.1 Selecting device language and verification of SMS central numberThelanguageinwhichthedevicecommunicateswiththeusercanbechosenbeforechangingfactorydefaultpassword.Tochangethelanguageinthesystemthatisalreadyconfiguredresetdefaultset-tings as described in 4.1 appendix.
SendSMSmessagewiththerequiredlanguagecodetothenumberoftheSIMcardinsertedinELDESEPIR.

4.1 Restoring default parametersTorestoresystemdefaultparameters,removeupperhalfofdevice(withdetectorlense)andcon-nectpowersupply.Thenpressandholdonthebuttontorestoredefaultparameters(seechapter1.4)untilLEDindicatorwillblink5times.Disconnectpowersupply.
4.2 ELDES ConfigTool configuration softwareConfigurationprogramworksonlywithELDESEPIRdevicesstartingwithv2version.Toconfigurethesystemquickerandeasieraswellasusemoresystemcapabilitiesuseconfigurationprogram„ELDESConfigTool”whichcanbedownloadedfromourwebsitewww.eldes.ltBeforeconnectingUSBcabletothecomputerreadELDESConfigTooluserguideavailableintheprogramchapterHELP.
4.3 Replacing back-up battery Normallyrealback-upbatterywilllastatleast2years.Thislargelydependsonsurroundingtem-perature and frequency of mains power disruptions.
To change back-up battery, follow these steps:1. Unplug power supply form mains power2. RemoveELDESEPIRfromholder3. Unplug power supply connector4. RemovescrewlocatedonthebacksideofELDESEPIR5. Open ELDES EPIR enclosure6. Carefullyremoveback-upbattery7. Withonehandholdingback-upbattery,unplugbatteryconnector8. Replacebattery.Usebatterytypeasspecifiedintechnicalspecifications.9. Repeat all steps in inverse order
