Purpose
The purpose of this document is to step through the installation process of the Local Data Collection Agent (DCA). The Local DCA will allow a printer that is connected locally (via USB, parallel port, etc) to a PC, to have its meter readings collected and submitted electronically. The Local DCA needs to be installed on each PC that has a locally connected PC in order to collect meter readings electronically.
There are two ways to install the Local DCA software
OPTION 1) Install the Local DCA software at each PC manually
OPTION 2) Push the Local DCA software out from the server

Step 1.1 – Locate the Local DCA software
Ensure you are on the PC or server that you have installed the DCA software.”
Open up Windows Explorer

Open the “Printer DCA” folder
Open the “Support” folder
Within this folder you will find a file called “Local Print Agent.msi”
This is the Local DCA application that needs to be run on each PC that has a local printer attached to it.
We recommend copying this installation file onto a flash pen or CD so that it can be easily installed on the various PCs.
