Information technology (IT) has become a part of our everyday lives since we live in the “information age”.Many companies now have IT departments for managing the computers, networks, and other technical areas of their businesses.

In several ways, we are involved in communications and information through the use of computer devicesand networks. For example, the mobile phones, ipad, iphones, laptop, etc.Most of these devices contain or use software applications that we need IT ideas or skills to use maximally.

Information technology concerns all professions and everyone. Hence, everyone must have an elementary knowledge of what it is and possess its skills.You should have an idea on how to operate a computer; how to use the software programs on it; how to install software programs you want to use on the computer; and how to fix problems that persists on the computer.The same applies to mobile devices such as mobile phones, iphones, ipad, tablets and notebook.

Computer literacy is now an important requirementin almost every company or organisation because ofthe advance in technology in our society.

Information technology (IT) is a good field but it does not mean that you work with computers only. This field is very big. From an ATM machine, to a software developer, to a programmer, to PC techies, to a network administrator to a graphic designer to a webmaster, to a video editor, to the record producer, these people are all in IT.

Also, if you love IT and you are passionate about the skills, you are already on your path into the career.
