The resort provides funding for the refurbishing of the Holboce–os' colorful original Þshing village. Residents and guests of the resort will work alongside archeologists and cultural anthropologists to resurrect Classic Period Mayan ruins dated back to the ninth century AD when the Maya with their sophisticated culture and technological expertise mysteriously vanished from the island.
