HANNAH SPRINGETTCREATIVE PORTFOLIO

I am a practical designer, I enjoy solving problems and meeting clients needs. I work creatively in a logical way, producing clean, simple, practical designs. This document contains my conceptual work that I created during my three years at Kingston University. This is the work that I am passionate about. I love brainstorming ideas and working with others to push boundaries.

FRESH

In my final year of university I was appointed Creative Director of the Kingston University Students’ Union magazine. After the summer issue was printed I worked on a ‘highlights’ edition to show the full potential of the magazine.

GOURMET GARDEN ADVERTISING

This 30 second advert was to promote Gourmet Garden garlic paste.

“Congratulations on such a fantastic advert” Gourmet Garden Marketing Coordinator.

HIERARCHY

We ranked our class in order of vanity by using the amount of profile pictures each person had uploaded to facebook. We then viewed their reaction, we were successful in making people feel embarrassed about their own photos.

INFINITE SPENDING

A series of photographs taken at Felixstowe Port, commenting on the UK’s need for endless amounts of imported goods.

SPUR

Spur is a new sportswear collection for women that has been created by Beth Spur. Each garment was constructed after a series of experiments, exploring different aspects of fashion. We have developed a branding identity based on a similar working process, we used Beths technical drawings to determine a series of logos.

Lookbook.

Website built in Flash AS2.

FASHION 2010

This client led project was commissioned by the Kingston University fashion department. We designed the summer graduate catalogue, website and invitations for the show.

PUBLIC SQUARE

This project was about grabbing opportunities whilst exploring a square of an A-Z map in London. Proximity London (large advertising agency) was one of the companies I contacted. They quickly replied and offered me an interview with their head designer. I took the opportunity to show my portfolio and website which led to arranging a work placement. I wanted to share the tips and examples I’d learnt from the industry with other students.

IKEA TV

The IKEA catalogue currently exists online and as a printed publication available in stores, restricting its potential customers. Our solution to this is IKEA TV, “Bringing IKEA to you”; available as a freeview digital TV channel and an on-demand Internet service.

‘WRITE START’

Write Start is a teaching aid which enables children to practise letter formation to help with handwriting. The board allows a child to trace the shape of each letter with a pen tool. The small tool develops a childs fine motor skills which in turn helps pen control when writing.

This project featured on Creative Review and Johnson Banks’ design blogs and had interest from BBH for production.

LESLEY-ANN BROWN. Early Years Teacher.

This would definitely be useful in the classroom, it looks fun so the children will want to have a go”

Kate Smith, Mother.

“My boys are just learning about letters and sounds in school, the stencil is perfect to help them practise at home.”
