DESCRIPTION

Sugar is sugar is sugar. Your body, and more importantly from my vantage point, your brain, don’t really care if the sugar you eat is from whole wheat pasta and bread or M&Ms washed down with Coca-Cola. Either way, these simple refined carbohydrates initiate a cascade of events that will/have likely left you in a post-holiday sugar daze. Throw in your usual gluten and a little too much eggnog and you have the perfect toxin-storm. The cascade of events that ensues causes an unfortunately all too familiar phenomenon: the hangover. It soon becomes clear why holidays put you at risk for this hangover cycle. First, you are likely experiencing increased stress during this time of year: cooking, cleaning, entertaining, shopping, creating magic for friends and family, unstated expectations and underestimated time pressures set the stage. Second, you are off your routine schedule. The older you get the more stressful this becomes. Third, you sleep less. Fourth, you drink more. And finally, you eat God knows what: anything and everything. No matter how well you stick to the fundamentals of diet and exercise the rest of the year, you will, if you are like the rest of us mere mortals, eat more refined sugars and grains, and expose yourself to toxic levels of baked good gluten.

A Few Hangover Points:• Alcohol is neither the only, nor even the most

common, cause of hangovers;• A hangover is actually the one-two punch of acute

intoxication (in-toxic-ation) followed by withdrawal from the toxic agent;

• Recent scientific research has demonstrated that “intense sweetness” is as addicting as cocaine;

• The roller coaster ride of carbohydrate intoxication-withdrawal can cause headache, GI distress, brain fog, irritability, and generalized malaise.

Systemic Inflammation

causes “Leaky Gut”

Toxic Overload, Nutrient Depletion, & your own unique brand of hangover

Pre-Binge (In the days preceding)Leaky Gut Repair on empty stomachProteolytic Enzymes on empty stomachGreen Coffee Bean Extract 20-30 minutes before meal slows down the rate at which your post-meal blood sugar, insulin, and lipids spikeProbiotics with mealDigestive Enzymes (at the beginning of the meal)

The BingeIncorporate as many of these principles in and immediately around the gluttony:• Go for a walk• Adequate sleep (not during the actual meal)• Fiber• Good fat (animal, olive oil, coconut oil)• Healthy protein (vegetable or wild caught fish, anti-

biotic/hormone free pork and fowl, grass-fed beef)• Lemon• Cinnamon• Cayenne pepper• Moderate amount of alcohol• Vinegar• Tea

Post-Binge (For the Next Several Days)• Neuro Immune PRP Spray (possibly my new favorite way

to kill two birds ((anti-biotic and hormone free)) with one stone/spray – seals the gut and right-sizes your immune response to recently ingested toxin foods and beverages)

• Leaky Gut Repair – “Seal and Heal” the gut • Omega 3 fatty acids (helps gut and lowers inflammation)• Dynamic Greens (a green food somewhat flavorful way of

replenishing all but your B vitamins, lots of enzymes and prebiotics ((what your gut bugs like to eat)))

• FolaNAC – your methylated B vitamins plus N-acetylcysteine, one of our most powerful antioxidants and liver detoxifiers

• Livdetox – to help your liver process the acute increase in immune and oxidative stress

• Get back to the other fundamentals of building health
