Milwaukee, 1903 - Bill Harley and Arthur Walter Davidson developed a one-cylinder motorcycle

This motorcycle was initially built for racing and was powered by a one-cylinder gasoline combustion engine.

1905 - they built 11 motorcycles

1908 - they built 154 in a little wooden barn that was built by Davidson's father

The small company grew rapidly and soon had more than 20 employees

The „Bar & Shield‟ logo is used for the first time in 1910 and was trademarked one year later.

1920 - Now the largest motorcycle manufacturer, H-D boasts over 2,000 dealers in 67 countries.

1907 - The first Harley-Davidsons sold for police duty
