Regional Program Boundary

• All Peel students must apply at their boundary school

• Applicants living within the Peel boundary will be given priority for offers of acceptance into the program

TRANSPORTATION

• Busing is not provided by Peel District School Board for any regional program

• Parents are responsible for arranging transportation for their child

APPLICATION PROCESS

• Basic information

• Gr. 7 and 8 Marks & Learning Skills

• Written Response Question

• $40 non-refundable Application Fee

• Application Opens NOVEMBER 6th on www.hmbss.com

• Application due by midnight NOVEMBER 24th. This is an Absolute deadline.

• Students not attending a Peel school need to submit a hard copy of their report card & IEP (if applicable) to the school no later than 4:00 pm on NOVEMBER 24th.This is an Absolute deadline.

SELECTION PROCESS

• A successful student for the IB program is determined by the score of their application

• The students are then selected to be part of a computer-generated lottery system

• Offers go out to students according to the lottery system

• W.G Davis’ MYP students no longer gain automatic acceptance

KEY DATES

• Online Application OPENS: Monday November 4, 2017

• Online Application DUE: Friday November 24, 2017

• First round of offers to the program will be emailed to successful applicants on: Monday February 5, 2018

• Students will receive all program offers on this day. If students apply to multiple programs, they may receive more than one offer

• If students do not receive an offer on this day, it does not mean they will not be offered a spot in a program. They may get into a program during the subsequent rounds of offers

REGIONAL PROGRAM OFFERS

• We are offering 116 spots in our IB program

• First round offers must be accepted no later than 4:00 pm on Thursday February 8, 2018

• If a student does not accept his/her spot in a program by Thursday February 8 the spot will be offered to another student on Friday February 9

• Once students make program decisions, they cannot change their minds and accepts spots in different regional programs. This includes EHS offers

• This means whichever program you accept an offer from is the program you will attend in September 2018

• Regional program schools will send second round offers on Friday February 9, which must be accepted no later than 4:00 pm on Tuesday February 14th

OFFERS OF ACCEPTANCE

• To accept an offer, you will need to reply by the deadline you will need to reply to the offer email you receive.

• When you confirm program participation, you will be asked to pay your program fees. Directions will be provided.

• Students will only be officially admitted into the program once program fees are received.

• Fees will be paid online using a third-party service provider. If you do not have a credit card or bank card, fees can be paid in-person with CASH ONLY.

REGIONAL PROGRAM PLACEMENT

• All successful Peel student applicants will be placed in regional programs by February 22nd 2018

• Any out of region student applicants may be offered a spot after this date

• Please note that we are not connected to Dufferin Peel (Catholic) Board schools. Accepting an offer at a Dufferin Peel school does not stop you from later accepting an offer from a Peel school

The following program fees are associated with the costs of application processing, teacher training, resources and experiential learning for students, external exams and annual IB membership fee.
