PSALM 7

READ AND READ, AND READ

Getting beyond the limits

Lord my God, I have taken refuge in you

Rescue and deliver me from all those who are pursuing me.

Otherwise they will tear me apart like a lion and rip me to pieces

And there will be no one to rescue me.

O Lord my God, if I have done things deserving of this

Or if my hands are guilty of such wrongdoing

If I have rewarded friendship with evil

Or have plundered my enemy without just cause,

Then you should allow my enemies to pursue me and overtake me.

Let him trample my life to the ground

And bury my glory in the dust of the earth.

[Pause now and reflect]

Rise up O Lord and stir your anger

Rise up against the anger of my enemies

Wake up O God and bring about justice.

Gather the nations before you

And rule over them from on high

The Lord judges the nations.

Vindicate me O Lord, according to my righteousness

And according to my integrity, O God most high

Bring to an end the violence of the wicked

And make the righteous people secure.

For you search deeply into minds and hearts

You are the righteous God.

God is my shield

He is the one who saves those whose hearts are true and right.

God is a righteous judge and feels indignant about wickedness every

day.

If a person does not repent it is God who will sharpen the sword

And he will be the one to bend and make ready his bow.

It is he who has prepared his deadly weapons

And has made ready his flaming arrows.

The wicked conceive evil;

They are pregnant with trouble

And give birth to lies.

They dig their holes to trap others

But fall into it themselves.

The trouble they cause backfires on them.

The violence they plan falls on their own heads.

So I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness.

I will sing praises to the Lord most high.

TAKE THE JOURNEY

1. I am telling God about destructive things are happening in my life

2. I have not caused or deserved this.

3. Intervene and stop the destruction AND vindicate me so that good people can live safely.

4. And this is consistent with who you are.

5. ANYHOW this is what happens when wickedness and wicked people are allowed to runs their full course.

6. I am able to celebrate this before it happens [faith]
