• be an educational resource for medical students, doctors in training, nurses and other health professionals

• promote a balanced encounter between patients and health professionals

• provide a patient centered perspective to researchers, managers and commissioners

How do we achieve this?

• Based on qualitative research• Advisory panel• For each condition -sample of 40-50 plus

patients from all over U.K from different backgrounds and with different experiences (maximum variation sample)

• Keep interviewing until no new themes, ideas, or experiences are voiced using thematic analysis

• Patients recruited via GPs, support groups, hospitals, media etc

• Narrative interviews -‘tell us your story’ unstructured and semi-structured interviews rather than ‘tick box questionnaire’

• Outputs as video, audio and written interviews (to avoid bias)

• Short summaries of main themes are written which include all experiences set with other research context

Presentation of results
