Hello my Year 9s.

I hope you are ok and keeping safe. This week project is a miss match of everything. If you would like to send me any of your work

then send it to gsergeant@beech.evolvetrust.org

PE Let’s see how many times this week you can complete these exercises.

How do you feel after you have exercised?

English

Question time

1) What other hobbies do you think Darth Vader might have?

2) Would you rather be a hero or a villain in a movie?

3) If you took the engine out of a car, would it still be a car?

4) If you put wings on a car, would it still be a car?

5) How do you think cars will change in the next 50 years?

Darth, like every other villain, had hobbies. Yes, he obviously liked light sabres and flying around space at catastrophic speeds. He was also fond of trying to eliminate Jedi. However, Darth had a need for speed, and loved nothing more than cruising around in his favourite sports car.

He loved the slick, black tyres, the feeling in the pit of his stomach as he accelerated to great speed along a straight stretch of road. He really could forget all about his troubles, especially those pesky Jedi!

This was his time to relax. Was it all about to change?

Story starter: your challenge is to continue writing the story.

Art Design your own vehicle that a super hero can ride in

1) How far were the children from their school at 10:20?

2) For how long are the children at least 500m away from school?

3) At 10:55 how far were the children away from school?

ScienceWhy does this happen?

Oil and water don’t mix. Also oil is less dense than water (meaning there is less of it in the same volume) and therefore floats on top of water in a nice layer. The food colouring we used was water based and therefore does not mix with the oil, instead it sinks through the oil into the water below. Since the addition of the colouringmakes the food colouringheavier than the water, it sinks to the bottom leaving trails (resembling fireworks) as some of the colour diffuses into the water.
