y  Functions and Powers of PRIs under the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act 1994: -

o  First schedule deals with powers of Gram Panchayat,o  Second schedule deals with powers of Panchayat Samiti,

o  Third schedule deals with powers of Zila Parishad.

All these above stated powers collectively shows that PRIs have been

entrusted with the work of every government department like :-

Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Art & Culture, Fisheries, Social and Farm

forestry, Minor Irrigation, Rural Housing, Drinking Water, Roads, Buildings,

Rural Electrification, Poverty Alleviation Programme, Education, Public

Health and Family Welfare, Welfare of Weaker section, Public Distribution

system along with many departments.

y  According to the Report of the Third State Finance Commission, Rajasthan,

2005-2010, Jaipur, Feb,2008; the Panchayati Raj department has submitted

that out of 29 subjects described under 11 th schedule only 18 funds and

functionaries have been transferred to the PRIs and are as follows: -
