Hi every one!

From now on, we’ll be working in a more autonomous way. I’ll assign some work, so as not to fall behind

with the exam preparation course, and, hopefully, you’ll complete it and check it for the first class back

from the quarantine.

We will finish the set corresponding to Unit 17 and, on your own, you will do Module 1 parts A and B

from Expert Proficiency Coursebook and Student’s Resource Book (I have included screen caps from the

first pages of the coursebook)

If that’s OK with you, we could schedule a day and time so we can connect over Skype and do some

speaking so as not to get rusty 😉. You can send me the required information to my mail

(missccultura@gmail.com) and we’ll organize a video conference, say on Thursdays at 7 p.m.

Don’t hesitate to contact me via email if need be.

a) Please, complete exercise 3 on page 146 from the photocopy set I gave you on Thursday. You can use

this website to record your answer and send it to me : https://vocaroo.com/

b) Now, go to page 147 and do exercise 4.

c) Off to the Vocabulary section! Do exercises 5, 6 (https://www.thesaurus.com/browse/oxford) and 7.

d) The second part of your photocopy set are the Workbook pages corresponding to Unit 17 ‘Happiness’.

Please, complete the activities there. (Yes, ALL OF THEM – exercises 1 to 7…Sorry! )

e) I remember assigning a photocopy on Metaphors as homework, you will find the key to correct

yourselves further down in this file.

f) Please, read the theory and examples on the first half of this extra practice page so as to complete the

activities below the grammar tips. (See attached file “SECTION 5”)

We are now starting training with our coursebook Expert Proficiency. Don’t worry, if you

haven’t bought it yet, I have included some screen caps of the first couple of pages.

a) A couple of questions to get us thinking:

*What is art? Look the word up. Do you agree with the definition? What would you add or remove?

*What is the etymology of the word ‘ART’?

*What is the purpose of art?

* Which are the different

* How are the arts classified?

* Which is your lest/ favourite kind of art? Why?

* How often do you enjoy the arts? Why?

You can record your answer and send it to me via email or we can speak about it together should we

arrange to have a video conference.

b) Go to page 7 from the Coursebook. Read and make notes to answer the prompt questions there. We’ll

share our ideas should we arrange to have a video conference. (Or you can use Vocaroo)

c) On to pages 8 and 9. Complete exercises 1 to 6. (Remember the different ways in which you can share

your ideas)

d) Move on to pages 10 and 11 and complete the Vocabulary and Use of English activities there. Remember to write the review requested in exercise 2 from the Use of English section on page 11.

e) It’s Listening time! Coursebook page 12. Complete all activities except task 4.

f) A bit of grammar now! Coursebook page 13. Complete the activities there. I will include in the Key Section of this file a screen cap of the Grammar Reference Section of the book.
