Part 1. What is the DSF?

Transformation & evolution of the DSF

Maintaining and developing the facilities at

HMC to ensure that they embrace best

practice is a never ending project which

regularly involves:

• HMC specialist

• External Consultants

• External Contractors

Ensuring that everyone working on the

operation and development of an HMC site

has a constant source of

information and guidance is extremely important.

The need for standardizing a common HMC

approach to how facilities should function

ranges from site wide facility strategies to the

layout of operating theatres.

This common approach:

1. Saves time & cost

2. Improves facility performance

3. Eases maintenance

HMC has developed this common approach and called it the

DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FRAMEWORK

(DSF)

A one stop shop for guidance on

Planning Design Site

Important that the DSF is easily

accessible by the right people

and can be updated quickly

and easily.

To achieve this the DSF is held

on an HMC owned website

located on HICT servers.

Team (CMT) with the content of the

site divided into a series of distinct

technical areas.

Entry into the site will

require a unique visitor

log in and password

which is issued by the

CMT.

Once an individual gains access to

the site they can proceed to the

homepage.
