• What: Traditional Dawn service

• When: Monday 25th of April 2016 at 6:00 am

• Where: Cenotaph on the Queens Domain

• What: Parade for serving members, Veterans and families.

• When: Monday 25th of April 2016:

– Parade assembles from 10:30 am, commences at 11:00 am

• Where: Town Hall to Cenotaph on the Queens Domain

Parade Precedence • By time and then Service guidelines for seniority:

– Chronological by conflict i.e. Boer War, World War One...

– Service seniority Royal Australian Navy, Australian

Army, Royal Australian Air Force

– Corps, mustering etc. seniority within each Service

– Unit seniority within Corps

• Groups and associations named for a specific

conflict or unit should march under that conflict

or unit.

• Generic groups and associations are to march to

the rear of those with specific conflict/unit names.

Vehicles in Parade • Conditions of Participation for all Vehicles:

Driver – current Drivers License for the vehicle

Roadworthy

Registered

Insured (third party etc.)

Authorised by the Committee to participate in the

parade

Transporting a Veteran

Report to the Transport Marshal (Corner of Collins and

Victoria Streets) by not later than 10:30 am

• Applications to be submitted by the last business day of

March.

Veteran Transport

• Veterans requiring transport during the parade

are to:

– Request Transport:

• Veterans Transport Request Forms are available from

the RSL website and ANZAC House.

• Use of a private vehicle is possible.

• Request submitted by the last business day in

March.

– Report to the Transport Marshal (Corner of

Collins and Victoria Streets) by not later than

10:30 am.

Main Commemorative Service

• What: Commemorative service including official wreath

laying ceremony.

• When: Monday 25th of April 2016 at 11:40 am

• Where: Cenotaph on the Queens Domain

• More information:

– Requests to participate in the official wreath laying ceremony

are to be submitted on the ANZAC Parade Registration Form

– Forms submitted by the last business day in March

Wreath Laying

• Participation in the Official Wreath Party is by

invitation/request.

• Wreath layers should pre-position wreaths prior to

the start of the Main Commemorative Service.

• Form up during the second hymn.

• All other Groups, Associations and Individuals

wanting to lay wreaths and floral tributes are

requested to do so before or after the Main

Commemorative Service.

Wet Weather Plan

• What:

– Parade and Cenotaph activities will be cancelled in the

case of severe weather.

– A modified Commemorative Service including a

wreath laying ceremony will be held.

• When: Monday 25th of April 2016 at:

– 9:00 am Announcement to cancel advertised via media

– 11:30 am modified Commemorative Service

• Where: City Hall

Dress & Etiquette

• Dress: Coat and tie or equivalent preferred

• Wearing of medals:

– Your medals on left breast

– Relatives medals on right breast

– Miniatures for ladies and children

– Inappropriate medals – report to Marshal

• Male headdress - men not in uniform:

– Remove hats for Governor, Last Post and National

anthems.

– Should not salute if wearing military head dress

with civilian clothing. 20

• Schools sought to carry historical contingent banners

provided by Greater Hobart RSL Sub-Branch

• Groups/Associations/Organisations:

– Register for Parade by last business day in March

– One page brief (for ABC telecast and Cenotaph MC) on

back of parade registration

– provide single point of contact for updates etc. email

– Must supply own Banners and Placards

– Responsible for assembling in accordance with the Order

of March
