5 Domains Physical Social Cognitive Emotional Creative
Physical Shoveling soil from outside into their
own pots. Digging through their soil to plant their
chose of seed. Filling up a water bottle and watering
their plant.
Social Turn taking with the shovels and
decorating supplies. Asking questions. Engaging in the activity.
Ex: “Which one are you planting?” “Can I borrow your shovel?”
Cognitive Planning the lesson together. Figuring out what order the process go
in. All the children can do it different ways. If
they want to plant first and then decorate they can. Their way!
The children will be focused on what they are doing.
Emotional They need to care for their plant in
order for it to grow. Gaining more knowledge on the subject. They learn that every part of the
gardening process has a purpose. The pot, the soil, the sun, and water.
Creative Decorating their own pot. Picking what seeds they want to grow. The students will have a sense of
independence. Everyone’s pot will be different and
unique.
