Security Tips for a Safe & Secure

Home

Home safety is the most common concern among all of us. But keeping your house safe and secure is not so difficult. Diamond Lock & Security provides you some easy tips to keep your home safe. Follow these and reduce the risk of burglaries.

Here is a checklist for some common things we should have in our homes for better security. Lets check what all you lag behind in:

CCTV cameras installed?Proper fencing around your house?Moving Sensor lights?Toughened glass on windows and doors?Alarm systems?

What Else Can Be Done?

If you have most of the things missing from your house, your house is at risk. Here are a few more options by which you can protect your castle.

Let’s Check them Out….

SurveillanceTo monitor the behavior of the people around you, people coming into your house and going out of your house can be kept an eye at, you need to adopt some methods like:• Peepholes: Install the correct type of peepholes on the main

doors of your house. The peephole should be the one which provides you a clear view of who is actually present outside. Peephole cameras are a best option.

• Home Security Systems: Go for the home security systems – surveillance cameras outside your home which can easily be connected to your TVs, smartphones or computers. Thieves will not take a risk to enter a house having security cameras installed.

• Moving Sensor Lights: Best way to figure out if someone enters or tries to enter your house at night is motion detector light. The light will guide you where that ‘unknown’ person is going.

AlarmsInstall home security alarm systems that have loud sirens so that your neighbors will be alerted of any suspicious activity. Once the alarm starts ringing loudly, thieves will not dare entering the house.

Also,

You can also opt for indoor alarms.

Security on Doors/WindowsDoors and windows are the first option thieves consider. If you ignored security check there, you have already handed over the game to them. Consider having solid doors with proper locks – deadlocks, dead bolts, dead latches – whichever is suitable.

Windows should have tough glasses to avoid break ins.

Higher vs Shorter FencesFences are meant to beautify our houses and most importantly, make our houses secure. So, to prevent any easy invasion, choose higher and stronger fences that are not easy to climb.

**If you have an entry point of your fence, install a gate with a strong lock.

Rekey Your HouseWhen you first move into the new house, always get the locks changed or the rekeying done by an expert locksmith around you.

Getting a master key can be beneficial too. Consult the locksmiths for better opinion.

Have a Secret SafeHaving a safe in the wall (secret chamber) or in the floor. This will be a secret chamber to protect all your valuable items from thieves as you and only you know about it. They will check only closets etc. to get valuable items, so these will be safe.

Some Other Tips• Don’t advertise your valuables. Before going for

vacation, make sure all the valuables are kept safe and are not visible from windows etc.• If you have recently bought any costly items,

don’t leave the packing outside to give an idea to the thief.• Make sure all your important documents such

as birth certificates, passports, bank information, etc. are stored in a secure location. I.E. a safe or lock box.• To prevent identity thefts, destroy the

unwanted papers through paper shredder.
