How do you design green utilities for Australia’s largest carbon neutral community? Barangaroo South

THE CHALLENGE

Barangaroo South is Sydney’s largest urban regeneration project since the 2000 Olympics. At 490,000 square metres and over 1,200 residents, it is Australia’s first large scale carbon-neutral and water positive community. Operators need to ensure an uninterrupted energy supply, and efficiencies in water and electricity to help meet sustainability targets.

THE SOLUTION Integrated water and energy services.

•  Embedded electicity network.

•  District cooling plant.

•  Recycled water plant.

HOW WE DO IT

Integrated water and energy operations and maintenance services through a centralised team.

Our customised solutions include:

POWER PLANT

WATER AND WASTE WATER

TREATMENT DISTRICT ENERGY

SOLUTION

The strategic decision of Lendlease in fostering the successful implementation of the district cooling system at Barangaroo South will yield effective and tangible outcomes in elevating the energy efficiency for cooling and air-conditioning of the new district, coupled with greater certainty and effectiveness. It will also enable them to meet the environmental obligations to the public of NSW.
